Nationals of the following countries REQUIRE a visa to enter Malaysia For Any Purpose of Visit.
The countries are:
Sub Continent Nationals: BANGLADESH, INDIA, PAKISTAN, SRI LANKA.
African Countries: NGOLA, BURKINA FASO, BURUNDI, CAMEROON, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, CONGO REPUBLIC, CONGO DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC, COTE D'IVOIRE, DJIBOUTI, EQUATORIAL GUINEA, ERITREA, ETHIOPIA, GUINEA-BISSAU, GHANA, LIBERIA, MALI, WESTERN SAHARA.
Other Countries: TAIWAN, MYANMAR, NEPAL, BHUTAN, PR CHINA.

How To Apply For A Visa

Application for visas should be made at the nearest Malaysian Missions abroad. In countries where Malaysian Missions have not been established, application should be made to the British High Commission or Embassy. The applicant should present himself together with the following documents:
(a) Passport or Travel Document
(b) Form IM.47 (3 copies)
(c) Three (3) passport sized photographs
(d) Return or onward - journey travelling ticket
(e) Proof of sufficient funds

Weather

The average daily temperature throughout Malaysia varies from 21°C to 32°C though in higher areas temperatures recorded are between 26° and 2°C. Relative humidity is generally high with readings of 80 percent. The northeast monsoon prevails from October to February and annual rainfall is between 2,032 to 2,540 mm.

The unit of currency is the Malaysian Ringgit indicated as RM. Foreign currency and traveller's cheque can be converted to Malaysian Ringgit at banks or authorized money changers throughout the country

The country runs on a normal eight hours a day system with Saturday as half day and Sunday as a rest day. Department Stores and supermarkets are open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Communications

The international access code for Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is +603. The outgoing code is 00 followed by the relevant country code (e.g. 001 for the United States). International Direct Dial is available throughout the country, but the service can be erratic. Coin and card-operated public phones are widespread, phonecards can be purchased at the airport, petrol stations and newsagents. Cards are not transferable between phone companies: Uniphone and Telekom phone boxes are the most common. Most of the country is covered by mobile networks; the local mobile phone operators use GSM networks which are not compatible with some US cell phones. Internet cafes are also widely available in tourist areas.

Bahasa Melayu is the national language, English is widely spoken and is the language of business. Cantonese, Hokkien and Hakka are spoken by Malaysia’s Chinese population and Tamil, Malayalam & Hindi among the Indian population.
